Our loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Jane Ann Riggs Parker, unexpectedly passed away on the morning of Friday, January 28, at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.

Jane was born October 2, 1964, in Pontiac, Michigan, to J.C. Palestine and Janice Riggs (Orton). After the death of her father, she, her mother, and her four brothers moved back to Janice’s home state of Utah. Growing up in Provo’s Edgemont neighborhood was such a blessing and a joy. The loving friends and neighbors there shaped her character and had a profound influence on her for the rest of her life.

Jane was a mighty Thunderbird, graduating from Timpview High School in 1982. In the summer of 1980 Jane met the love of her life, Rodger V. Parker, on a blind date. Though they parted ways for a time, they were reunited and married in 1991. Jane and Rodger raised their family in her childhood home in Edgemont following the death of her beloved mother in 1997. In 2015 they moved to Springville, Utah.

She loved gathering with her large extended family, which includes many nieces and nephews and their children. Jane’s love of gathering was also reflected in her professional life working as a global events coordinator for Nu Skin Enterprises, where she was an employee for 18 years. During this time, Jane was able to see the world, traveling to Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Norway, England, Hawaii, and her beloved France. One of her greatest joys from her time at Nu Skin, however, was her relationship with her exceptional colleagues, who became some of her closest friends.

Jane loved music of all kinds. She was an admirer of the arts and appreciated vintage ephemera. One of her favorite things to do was to walk through the junk fields in Canton, Texas, to find her invaluable treasures. Jane appreciated nature, and often marveled at the beauty of God’s creations. She loved being surrounded by the beautiful Wasatch mountains. She loved animals, especially her faithful companion Rocco.

Jane’s paramount priority in life was her family. Her pride and joy were her children. And anyone who knows her will know that if Jane loved anything, she loved being a grandmother. The brightest joys in her life came from being surrounded by her grandchildren and supporting them in their hopes and dreams.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rodger; son, Levi (Amanda); daughter, Ellie; stepson, Ryan (Baylee); brothers, Scott (Gina), Eric (Julie), Matthew (Melyssa), and Andrew (Debbie); and grandchildren, EvaLee, Melody, Shane, Bayley, Wyatt, Rebel, Serenity, and Penelope.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Grasslands Ward building (located at 351 North 1200 West in Springville). Family and friends may visit at the church on Friday from 6:00–8:00 p.m. or on Saturday from 9:30–10:30 a.m., prior to services. Interment will be in Provo City Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.walkersanderson.com where a LIVE BROADCAST of services may be viewed beginning at 11:00 a.m.

In her memory, we’d love for you to consider donating to a local animal shelter.
